Privacy Policy
Overview
GoAsk.Chat provides AI-powered chat experiences across web, iOS, and macOS. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information We Collect
- Account details you provide (such as email).
- Payment status metadata required to enable Pro features. We never store full card numbers.
- Usage and performance diagnostics to keep latency low.
- For child accounts: only parent-provided username, age, and optional safety instructions. No data is collected directly from children.
How We Use Information
- Operate and improve GoAsk.Chat performance.
- Provide support and respond to incidents quickly.
- Manage subscriptions and entitlements.
- Route chat messages to AI model providers you have explicitly consented to.
Data Sharing & Security
We share data with processors required to deliver the service: payment processors (Stripe, Apple), and third-party AI model providers (with your explicit consent per provider). All traffic uses HTTPS in transit and encrypted storage at rest. We never sell personal data.
Third-Party AI Services
GoAsk.Chat sends your chat messages and conversation history to third-party AI providers to generate responses. These providers include OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, xAI, DeepSeek, Mistral, Meta, MiniMax, Moonshot, Qwen (Alibaba Cloud), Cerebras, Groq, Fireworks AI, and OpenRouter.
Before using any AI provider, you will be asked for explicit consent. You can review and manage provider permissions in Settings → Privacy → AI Providers.
We do not send your email, account credentials, or payment information to AI providers. Each provider's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy, accessible from the consent dialog or Settings → Privacy → AI Providers.
Third-Party Analytics
Go Ask Chat does not use third-party analytics services such as Firebase, Mixpanel, or Google Analytics. No third-party tracking domains are contacted by the app.
Your Choices
- Email chat@goask.chat to request data export or deletion.
- Use incognito chats when you do not want history saved.
- Disable optional AI providers under Settings → Privacy → AI Providers.
Children's Privacy
Children cannot create their own accounts. Only authenticated parents can create child accounts (maximum 5 per parent). All child data is parent-provided and parent-controlled. Parents may delete all child data permanently at any time from Settings → Parents.

Terms of Use (EULA)
By using Go Ask Chat you agree to these terms and to the Apple Standard EULA for apps distributed through the App Store.
Account & Eligibility
- You must be 18 or older to create an account. Users under 18 may only use the app through a parent-created child account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials.
Acceptable Use
- Do not use Go Ask Chat to generate illegal, harmful, or abusive content.
- Do not attempt to bypass content safety filters or child safety protections.
- Do not reverse-engineer, scrape, or redistribute the service.
AI-Generated Content & Data Processing
Responses are generated by third-party AI models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Go Ask Chat does not guarantee the accuracy of any AI-generated content. You use AI responses at your own discretion.
Your chat messages and conversation history are sent to third-party AI providers to generate responses. You must grant explicit consent per provider before any data is shared. You can manage AI provider permissions in Settings → Privacy → AI Providers.
Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of the content you create. Go Ask Chat retains rights to the service, branding, and underlying technology.
Limitation of Liability
Go Ask Chat is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI Chat Systems LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account and data at any time.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email.

GDPR & International Users
Legal Basis for Processing (EU/EEA/UK)
We process personal data under the following legal bases as defined by the GDPR:
- Contract Performance — Processing necessary to provide the Go Ask Chat service (account management, message routing, subscriptions).
- Consent — AI provider consent is explicitly granted per-provider in Settings → Privacy → AI Providers. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate Interest — Performance diagnostics and security monitoring to maintain service quality.
Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the EU, EEA, or UK you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Rectify inaccurate data.
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Port your data to another service.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email chat@goask.chat. We will respond within 30 days.
Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States. We rely on standard contractual clauses and service-provider agreements to ensure adequate protection for international transfers.
Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Chat data is retained until you delete it or request account deletion. Billing metadata is retained as required by law (typically up to 7 years for financial records).

Subscriptions & Billing
Auto-Renewable Subscriptions
Go Ask Chat offers the following auto-renewable subscriptions:
- Pro Plan — Monthly subscription. Unlocks higher message limits, premium AI models, and priority support.
- Family Plan — Monthly subscription (tiered by number of children, 1–5). Activates parent-managed child accounts with age-appropriate AI safety filters. Upgrade or downgrade tiers as you add or remove children.
One-Time Purchases
- +100 Premium Messages — One-time, non-recurring purchase. Adds 100 premium model messages to your current monthly allowance. Available to Pro subscribers only.
Payment & Renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID (iOS/macOS) or payment method (web) at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew each month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
Managing & Cancelling Subscriptions
- iOS / macOS: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Go Ask Chat → Cancel Subscription.
- Web: Go to Settings → Account → Manage Subscription.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until then.
Refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund. For web purchases, contact chat@goask.chat.
